Applications open for scholarships to attend air academy summer camps

In partnership with the Auburn Aviation Association, Auburn Chapter 526 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) is offering scholarships to attend EAA Air Academy summer camps in 2023. One applicant who will be age 14 or 15 as of June 25, 2023, will receive full tuition and up to $900 in air fare reimbursement to attend the June 25-30 session of EAA Basic Air Academy. One applicant who will be age 16, 17 or 18 as of July 28, 2023, will receive full tuition and up to $900 in air fare reimbursement to attend the July 28-Aug. 5 session of EAA Advanced Air Academy. These highly regarded summer camps are held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, home of EAA AirVenture, the world's largest aviation event. Camp participants will be immersed in many aspects of aviation. AirVenture will be held July 24-30, and Advanced Air Academy participants will attend. Basic and advanced camps usually sell out months in advance. Chapter 526 has already secured the necessary slots for 2023. Applicants must reside in Placer, El Dorado, Nevada or Sacramento counties. Applications will be accepted through January 31, 2023.
