LeClaire Lola McLelland 5/2/1933 - 1/27/2023

LeClaire "Claire" McLelland, 89, of Emmett passed away in Emmett, Idaho on January 27, 2023 with her family by her side. Claire was born May 2, 1933 in Grand Canyon, Arizona to Marvin and Carrie Mae Elizabeth Lester. She was the oldest of two daughters. Claire lived most of her adolescent years traveling from state to state with her family as her father's occupation was in construction. On December 20, 1949, Claire married the love of her life, Estle "Bud" McLelland. Claire was sixteen and Bud was nineteen. They raised six children in Newark, California. After Bud retired from construction, they moved to Auburn, California. Around three years after Bud's death in February of 2016, Claire moved in with her youngest daughter and her husband in Emmett, Idaho. Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Bud. She is survived by her children, Pam Martinez, Estle Lee McLelland, Gary McLelland, Patricia Meredith, Clint McLelland and Jackie Wolter, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and her sister, Patricia Moomjian. Local arrangements were cared for by the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett. There will be a celebration of life to honor Claire's life and legacy at the Lassila Funeral Chapel in (551 Grass Valley Hwy) Auburn, California on April 29, 2023 at 12:00, noon. (530-885-6271)
