Luella JoAnn Davis 3/11/1938 - 11/23/2022

Early Wednesday morning, Nov. 23, 2022, JoAnn Davis passed away with her husband of 60 years be her side. She was 84.Born in Cleveland, Ohio in the spring of 1938, JoAnn spent the majority of her childhood as an "Army brat" living in various places in the U.S. as well as in Germany. While in Germany she attended Nurnberg American High School before returning to the U.S. for the final time.In 1956, at age 18, she traveled from Ohio to California with her Aunt and Uncle. She held various positions, switchboard operator, secretary, office manager before the birth of her first child in 1965.In 1972, she and her husband, Loren, bought land in Newcastle, CA. Where they built their forever home, a redwood ranch house surrounded by acres of pasture land, flower and vegetable gardens, as well as maple trees whose fall color reminded her of her childhood in Ohio.She spoke two languages, English and German with a smattering of French, Spanish and Italian.She had a wide variety of interests including genealogy, sewing, cooking and gardening. She loved books, and was a talented artist, even if she didn't believe it.JoAnn was deeply devoted to her husband and children and grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her father, mother and son Wayne. She is survived by her husband Loren, son Andy, daughter Lorelei, brother Dan and her grandchildren; Logan, Grady, Jillian, Piper and Violet.A private memorial will be held at a later date.
