Thank you, Sean Scully and Lenny Siegel

On March 8, Lincoln, California's Titan Missile Site Environmental Contamination Remediation Committee presented a panel forum to about 600 residents in the Sun City Lincoln Hills (SCLH) Orchard Creek Ballroom about the status of the site. The goals of the committee are simple: to move forward the long-lingering and neglected clean-up of the contamination at Lincoln's Titan IA Missile Site and adjacent residential properties. As a committee member, I want to personally thank every one of you who took the time to attend in person, via ZOOM or watched it later on the SCLH website or at youtube.com/watch?v=5XX8kcg3S5. Though not members of our committee, I also want to thank two panel members who provide unbelievable assistance to our cause. Specifically, Lenny Siegel, former mayor of Mountain View, California and executive director of the Center for Public Environmental Oversight. He's a recognized expert on vapor intrusion pathways and remediation of contaminated areas. Lenny is our go-to person on all the missile site's environmental questions. Sean Scully, Lincoln's City Manager, is the second person who has been invaluable. Sean came to the city just a little over one year ago and soon inherited this difficult and time-consuming issue. With his direction and stewardship, we've been able to more thoroughly research the contamination and remediation issues facing the residents, Lincoln, Placer County, the California Water Board and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Sean has a long history of working in local government and successfully dealing with environmental issues and believes in being in the public where he can help the most. This process has been intense and difficult. My hat is off to everyone involved, particularly Lenny and Sean, who've gone above and beyond to fix this mess. Ray Birge, Lincoln
