This Memorial Day Monday, honor the sacrifices of our troops by participating in observance ceremonies throughout the area. Roseville The Roseville Cemetery at 421 Berry St.is offering two Memorial Day Tours this Veterans Day at 2 p.m. Saturday and Monday. Guests will be guided past the tombstones of veterans on a 60- to 90-minute tour. "The tour will spotlight soldiers who died in the line of duty from World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam, along with a few Civil War veterans," according to the event website. Tickets for the tours are $15 for those 18 and older and $10 for teens aged 13 to 17 or Roseville Historical Society members. Nicholas Busse, head of military and veteran programs at Leaf Home, will host the first Roseville Memorial Day Veterans Ruck March at Veterans Memorial Park at 1750 Blue Oaks Blvd. on Friday, May 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.The march will begin at Veterans Memorial Park and go down Blue Oaks Boulevard for about 1 mile out and back, according to the event page. Busse said in a LinkedIn post, "This is an effort to echo our appreciation for the fallen who served our country, and to honor them in remembrance of that, by exemplifying what true cohesion and unit morale looks like amongst our community." The annual event will feature numerous guest speakers and a special ceremony. The Chardhi Kalla Riders Club of Yuba City is hosting a Memorial Day ride, starting at Harley Davidson of Rocklin at 4401 Granite Drive at 8 a.m. Monday. Loomis For the first time since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Del Oro High School's WINGS group will host its public, annual Memorial Day event from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the Del Oro High School football field at 3301 Taylor Road. The event will feature an Air-Med helicopter fly-in, an aircraft flyover during the National Anthem, guests from the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), guest speakers from the American Legion, and performances from local community members and students, according to Del Oro High School's WINGS group leader Madeline Hilmen. "We work hand in hand with the American Legion to try and provide the local community with an event that properly commemorates our veterans," said Hilmen in last week's Gold Mountain News California article, "Del Oro's WINGS group invites public to Memorial Day event May 29." WINGS group leader Mylah Feickert said the event will feature a variety of guest speakers, such as Del Oro high school students, teachers, and American Legion Lt. John A.
