Evelyn Mae Killian 1931 - 2023

Evelyn Mae Killian, age 91, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born on August 26, 1931, Evelyn Mae Lyles to Charles Lyles and Lenoir Elder in Lincoln California where she lived until the age of five when her father died. She relocated with her family to a farm in Auburn California where her mother was remarried to Louis Wolfe. Evelyn, known by family and friends as Sid, graduated from Placer High School where she met her future husband Wynn Killian. Wynn and Sid were married and the couple soon became a lively family consisting of five sons and one daughter. Sid dedicated her life to caring for and raising her children, preforming the countless and daily acts of love required by such a large family.She always remained close to her family of origin and embraced Wynn's family as well. Many large family get-togethers were held during those years forming strong family bonds which continue to present day. Sid went on to be a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. After Wynn's death she lived with her daughter Kim and Kim's family in Colfax in a cozy house built by Sid's children. Sid faced life with kindness and courage. Never a bad word to say, she will be remembered for her loving heart and for her lightning quick smile which lit up those sparkling blue eyes whenever friends or family came by. Surviving is her daughter, her four sons Kristy, Kurt, Kelly and Kit, nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband and parents, her brothers Howard and Lamar, her sister Jeanie and her son Kacy. A celebration of life will be held on Sid's 92nd birthday August 26, 2023, 11:00-2:00 PM at Kurt and Mary Anne's home, 10620 Harris Rd Auburn, CA. 95603.
