Ravi Kahlon announces campaign for Folsom City Council

Ravi Kahlon, a public policy professional, contractor and community leader last week announced her campaign for Folsom City Council District 2 in the November 2024 election. "Folsom is an incredible community to raise a family, start a business and chase your dreams. For the past 20 years, I have been so fortunate to call this place my home," Kahlon said. "I am running for Folsom City Council to take my experience and give back to the community I love." Kahlon announced her campaign with key endorsements from regional leaders, including FCUSD Board Member Kara Lofthouse, Sacramento County Supervisor Patrick Kennedy, Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero. Kahlon discussed some key issues and her top priorities, saying, "While we have strong neighborhoods and a uniquely high quality of life in Folsom, we do face real challenges that demand focused leadership. These include tackling homelessness, investing in road repairs and infrastructure to reduce traffic and maintaining our abundant parks and open space." She has worked in the State Legislature and for statewide office holders for several decades, advising key decision makers on various public policy issues. Kahlon also represented 135 water agencies across California, managing relations between local water providers and state lawmakers. Aside from her work in public policy, Kahlon is also a construction contractor. In this role, she manages multiple job-site construction and hires and supervises architects and sub-contractors. Kahlon previously served as a member of the Folsom Utilities Commission and as board member for the Folsom Historical Society. The contractor has volunteered her time with the American Punjabi Project, the Citizenship Action Network, as a Folsom Rotary Club member and in local public schools with the Folsom Hills Elementary PTA and Sutter Middle School PTA. Kahlon grew up in the region, attending local schools and earning her bachelor's degree from UC Davis. She is married with three children who attend FCUSD schools.
