Folsom seeking input on Central Business District

The city of Folsom is seeking the community's input on the preparation of the Central Business District Master Plan. The district includes 220 acres and is located on East Bidwell Street from Riley Street to Blue Ravine Road. According to the city, the district is an important retail and commercial district and includes the aquatic center and Lembi Park. Kathy Pease, planning consultant for Folsom, told the council in January there may be opportunities for infill or increased development for housing and economic development since the district is an existing area. The Central Business District Revitalization website notes project objectives include traffic calming, parking strategies, pedestrian and bicycle improvements and mixed-use residential development. According to the city, an online survey is available for residents to provide input at surveymonkey.com/r/HT5BX8D. Folsom residents can learn more about the Central Business District at folsom.ca.us/CentralBusinessDistrict.
