Folsom's Love My Mom 5K returns Sunday

Folsom is bringing the love to all moms Sunday with its 10th annual Love My Mom 5K and Kids' Dash. The city says the event, in partnership with the Palladio and Kaiser, not only celebrates moms but provides the opportunity to run with your mom. According to the city, the start and finish lines will be located by Whole Foods Market, 270 Palladio Parkway, and the course is flat and closed to traffic, "making it an ideal route for runners, walkers and stroller striders." Leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun as well. 5K participants will be electronically timed and awards will be presented to top finishers of various categories, including top mom, top female, top male and single and double strollers. The city confirmed all registered participants will receive a 10th-anniversary finisher's medal and commemorative T-shirt. The Kids' Dash, for children 10 and under, will be held before the 5K race. Medals will be awarded to all registered participants. Participants can pick up their race number and shirt on Saturday from noon-4 p.m. in front of Whole Foods Market. The city confirmed race-day packet pickup begins at 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Race times are: Kids Dash for ages 5 and under at 8 a.m., Kids Dash for ages 6-10 at 8:10 a.m. and the 5K run/walk at 8:20 a.m. with the stroller wave starting 60 seconds before. According to the registration site Thursday morning, only two spots remain for 5K double stroller adults. Other 5k and Kids' Dash spots are sold out. Following the race, festivities will be held in the Palladio Piazza with vendor booths, DJ music, refreshments and a raffle.
