Alice Berry 7/4/1938 - 5/28/2024

Alice Pooley Berry was our dearly beloved wife, mother, sister, cousin, auntie, friend, volunteer. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and enjoyed her garden and having wine or ice tea on her back patio with loved ones. She loved her cruise ship vacations and they saw and visited so many places. After raising their 4 kids she wanted to give back and she did that through her volunteer work in Auburn, CA. Alice Pooley was born July 4th 1938 at Bay Farm Island, Alameda, CA. She was born to Wendell Pooley and Florence Alice Pooley. She had three older brothers, Kenneth, James and Robert Pooley. Her parents and three brothers have since passed away. Alice's younger sister, Linda Pooley-Peck now resides in Hawaii. She and Albert Berry met at Alameda High School. They got married soon after Albert arrived back from the 4 years he spent in Germany in the Air Force. They were married on July 16, 1960 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alameda. They had 4 children, three sons and one daughter, Lane, Lonnie, Ladd and Lyle and raised them in San Leandro, CA. Alice worked for Montgomery Wards in the credit office. Alice won a battle with Colon Cancer many years ago. Al and Alice retired in Auburn, CA. They are members of the Elks Lodge and Alice volunteered at Auburn Memorial Hospital for about 20 years, theElks Lodge and the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop in Auburn CA. Alice recently lost her battle with cancer on May 28, 2024. Alice & Al have recently sadly suffered the loss of their adult grandson, Tyler Berry. Alice Berry is survived by her husband Albert E Berry, their children, Lane Berry, Lonnie Ilmberger, Ladd Berry and Lyle Berry, their grandchildren Denise Marshall, Lane Berry Jr, Brandon Berry, Stephen, Sydney, Ryan and Allison Ilmberger, Joseph and Jacob Berry, Zachary Berry and their great grandchildren, Ariana, Alexis, Harley, Savannah, Nova, Makenna, Santana, Tyler Jr. and Hunter. Alice will be deeply missed, but will remain forever in our hearts.
