Jack Lloyd Nabors 7/20/1943 - 5/28/2024

Jack was born in Chico, CA to Gertrude Killingsworth and Louis Jack Nabors. Jack enlisted in the US Army shortly after high school. He enjoyed hunting and deep-sea fishing in his younger years. Jack resided in the Durham and Chico area until 1972 when he and his wife Cheri Nabors (née Ellis) moved to Reno, NV and then in 1975 to Auburn, CA where they established their forever home. Jack was a union ironworker out of Local #118 from 1974 until his retirement in 2002. In retirement he and Cheri lived and played in Baja California, Mexico for many years. He still has close friends from high school and from his working days. He was preceded in death by both his parents, sisters Susan Reeves and Linda Scott, and brother John Nabors. Jack is survived by his wife, Cheri; son Brad (Emily) Nabors of Ardmore, PA, and daughter Teresa Thomas of Grass Valley; granddaughters Tiana Thomas, Devon (Karlee) Thomas-Kugler, and Frida Nabors; and great-grandchildren Emmett and Aspen Thomas-Kugler. He is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Powers and Gloria Slightom, in addition to a host of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for Jack will be held at the Mt. Vernon Grange Hall at 3185 Bell Rd. in Auburn on Sunday, July 21 at 11:00am. In remembrance of Jack, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
