Sight Word Busters seeks volunteers for 2024-25 school year

Do you enjoy spending time with kids and helping them learn? Would you like to be a community hero and make a significant positive impact on local schools? Please consider becoming a Sight Word Buster volunteer. Sight Word Busters, a volunteer program that trains and places community volunteers in local classrooms to help beginning readers, is recruiting for the 2024-25 school year. You don't need prior experience or education to become a volunteer Buster. SWB provides all the necessary training and ongoing support for volunteers to ensure they succeed and have an enjoyable experience. Following training, volunteers work one hour per week in the classroom as part of teams. It's a win for the teachers, a win for the students and a win for the volunteers, who watch the young minds light up with new knowledge and skills. If it sounds interesting, you are invited to attend a Sight Word Busters meet-and-greet session to learn more about the program.
