Pair arrested in connection to Auburn, Penryn burglaries

Two individuals were arrested Sept. 24 in connection to two burglaries and an attempted burglary in Auburn and Penryn. A silent alarm was activated at The Store Gas along Highway 49 at Dry Creek Road at 2:30 a.m. Placer County Sheriff's deputies found the front door with a large break in it, which was believed to be caused by a rock. The Sheriff's Office confirmed no one was able to get into the business due to the size of the break. Another incident occurred at 2:20 a.m. at the Shell Station on Lincoln Way near Flood Road. According to the Sheriff's Office, a rock was thrown through a locked glass door and lottery tickets were stolen. A female suspect was seen in surveillance footage inside the store, wearing bright pink sneakers. Placer County Sheriff's Office The third incident occurred at the Penryn Subway and a safe containing several thousand dollars was taken. The Sheriff's Office reported the break-in was discovered by an employee at 8 a.m. The Sheriff's Office confirmed the Penryn incident seemed linked to the ones in Auburn as a window was broken to make entry into the business and surveillance video showed the same suspect vehicle, as well as a clear view of a male driver, adding a second suspect in connection to the burglaries. Deputies located the suspects' vehicle in a parking lot off Industrial Avenue in west Placer County. The woman wearing bright pink sneakers, identified as Calli Garcia, 41, of Placerville, was taken into custody at 12:09 p.m. Placer County Sheriff's Office The Sheriff's Office reported the male suspect, identified as Orlando Marquez, 35, of Woodland, was taken into custody at 12:15 p.m. Garcia and Marquez were booked on felony charges including burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime and vandalism, the Sheriff's Office reported. Marquez remains in custody with bail set at $250,000. No in-custody information was located for Garcia. The Sheriff's Office shared the below video of its investigation:
