Kent Stephen Estabrook 10/4/1937 - 7/21/2024

Kent Estabrook, died of vascular disease at his home in Sacramento CA. Born in San Carlos CA to Sheldon P. and Bernadine M. Estabrook, Kent spent his formative years in Taft after the family relocated with Standard Oil in 1944. A graduate of Taft Union High School, Kent attended Taft Jr. College, the US Coast Guard Academy and UC Santa Barbara. He then joined the US Navy and became an aviator, leading to his career as a commercial pilot. He flew for Continental Airlines for 31 years. While in the Navy, Kent married fellow UC student Silvia Brown. They had three children, Stephen, Pamela (McGlathery) and Julia (Schmidt). Following his marriage to Silvia, Kent was briefly married to Elizabeth Mears. He found his forever love with Lynn Steward Monroe of San Rafael. They married at their country home in Lincoln CA in 1982, blending their children (her son Mark and daughter Michelle Monroe and his 3) into one big happy family. Kent was a talented woodworker, making furniture, toys, harpsichords and even boomerangs in their big barn. He loved to travel, was an avid fly fisherman, was interested in all things science/aeronautic/mechanic, as well as opera, classical music and art. Above all, he loved his family and his many friends around the world. Kent never met a stranger and always had a joke, pun or story to share. After 24 years in Lincoln, Kent and Lynn moved to Sacramento. They were married 43 beautiful years, always happiest when the kids and grandkids were visiting. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean, and daughter Michelle. He is survived by his wife Lynn, four children, six grandchildren and one great grandson.
