Sharon Castle 1/13/1956 - 1/23/2025

Sharon Kathleen Castle was born in Sacramento, California, on January 13, 1956, to Forrest Duane Castle and Ruby Lucille Mason. While her father was in the service, she was able to travel as far as Japan and throughout the United States and finally landed in Carmichael for the remainder of her childhood. During her adult life, she spent most of her time in the Auburn through Colfax area, raising her three children with her husband of 36 years. As she accumulated her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, she continued to travel to multiple countries and states with her father. She also became a pillar of her community, serving on the Auburn Fair Booster Board for over 25 years, serving at the Thanksgiving dinner for over 15 years, and being a staple for donations and contributions for organizations such as the State Theater renovations. Besides being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, some of her favorite pastimes included watching fireworks and movies, flying kites, reading books, adopting animals, and helping family, friends, and strangers alike. Sadly, she passed away suddenly on January 23, 2025, joining her parents and granddaughter, Autumn Armbruster. She has left behind a multitude of heartbroken family, friends, and colleagues. Her husband, Stephen Guzier, survives her with her children, Floyd Rutherford and Tina Kozlowski, Rocky Rutherford, Danielle and Deno Hudson, and Thea Goodpastor; her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Tyler Kindice, Nickolas Rutherford, Kylie Armbruster, and Addisyn Nebeker; her great-grandchildren, Aniyah, Brooklynn, Camille and Delaney Kindice, Leo and Rayleen Rey. She also had many "adopted" children and grandchildren, too numerous to list. She is also survived by her brothers Michael of California and Allen of Montana, as well as her in-laws Tom of Minnesota and Linda, Tera, and Pam of the Chicago area. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised in imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.' 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 Her service will be held at Lassila Funeral Chapel, 551 Grass Valley Highway, Auburn, California, on February 21, 2025, at 10 am. We are requesting attendees in this Celebration of Life to please wear colorful attire since she was not one for a depressing black attire affair. We are also asking you to please send all condolence offerings to Lassila's. We will provide all attendees with a light lunch, dessert, and drinks on the event day.
