Lori Nunner 2/12/1944 - 1/23/2024

Lauraine Mary Facino (Lori, Laurie) was born in Sacramento, CA, on February 12, 1944, to Lauraine and Alfred Facino. She lived in Sacramento and attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and St. Francis High School until 1959 when her family moved to Folsom, CA. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and attended Folsom High School where she was in the Chorus Group, Girls' Sextette Choir (they sang at her high school graduation), and Girls Athletic Association. Lori worked at multiple Mercy Hospitals for 50 years. She worked at Mercy Folsom when it opened in 1968 and ultimately retired from there in 2016, as the EKG Department Supervisor. Personally donating blood was important to her. She not only donated blood; she was honored for organizing over 140 blood drives. Lori was a loving, sweet, beautiful, kind, caring wife, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and friend. She was the third oldest of eleven siblings and a second "mom" to all her younger siblings. Anyone who met her remembers her smiling, happy and with a twinkle in her eye. She had a home-made flower clip in her hair to match every outfit. Lori was never heard to complain, say an angry word, or speak ill of anyone. On July 12, 1998 Lori married Jim Nunner. Never having children of her own, she became a loving mother to Jim's children, Kimber and Marc Nunner. She was a devoted grandmother to Kelsey and RJ Facino, Miranda Nunner, and great-grandchildren Rebellyah and Preston Nunner. Lori loved to travel and went on family trips to Mexico, Bahamas, Hawaii, Montana and also enjoyed sailing on cruise ships with her mom and her Aunt Pearl. On one of those cruises she met her husband-to-be, Jim. Together, they went on many trips and attended many events. She enjoyed going to their cabin at Uncle Tom's outside of Georgetown; Hog-o-rama BBQ and beach camping at the ocean; camping at Slab City by the Salton Sea; riding the Skunk train in Mendocino County; 4-wheeling, including the challenging Rubicon Trail. Events they attended included going to Utah to the Bonneville Salt Flats speed record races; participating in the Folsom Snail Races and the gas engine exhibits at the Amador County Fair in Plymouth, CA. She had many talents and hobbies including singing, baking and decorating intricate wedding cakes, growing a beautiful garden full of flowers, stained glass art, crocheting and knitting blankets, sewing (she made her own clothes as well as her sisters), scuba diving, parasailing and hunting. Lori loved riding horses and owned a couple of her own over the years. Lori is survived and loved by her husband, Jim Nunner; eight siblings: Trish (Knoel) Owen, Larry Vossen, Sharon (Steven) Bowne, Kathy (Mark) Ruddy, Mike (Connie) Vossen, Mary (Bill) Johnson, Michelle Vossen, and Joe Vossen; children, Kimber (Robert) Facino, Marc Nunner; grandchildren, Kelsey, R.J., Miranda Nunner; great-grandchildren, Rebellyah and Preston Nunner; sister-in-law Lea Facino, many nieces and nephews, and former husband, Jerry Kallis. Preceded in death by her father, Alfred Facino, her mother, Lauraine Vossen, stepfather, Howard Vossen, and siblings, John Facino, and Al (Donna) Facino.
