Placer blasts Twelve Bridges; Del Oro no-hits Davis

Placer High School scored 13 runs in the final three innings Monday to pick up a lopsided 15-4 victory at Twelve Bridges in game one of a three-game series. The Hillmen amassed 13 hits and took advantage of seven errors by the Rhinos to pull away. Will Rogers and Devin Knight each collected three hits while Garret Brink, Gavin Otis and Robby Silski had two. Knight drove home three runs and Silski had two RBIs. Otis earned the win, allowing four runs, five hits and three walks while striking out five in four innings. The sophomore improved to 5-1 this season. Devin Gendron tossed the final two innings, allowing one hit and striking out two. The Rhinos did all of their damage in the fourth inning. Gio Bordessa drove in two runs and Nick Christen and Will Harris each picked up an RBI. The remainder of the series will be crucial, as the Hillmen and Rhinos are now tied for second in the Foothill Valley League at 6-4, four games behind Yuba City, the lone remaining unbeaten team at 10-0. Twelve Bridges hosts Placer on Wednesday in Lincoln before the series shifts back to Auburn on Friday night at James Field. Del Oro 10, Davis 0: Anthony Clark had his best stuff on the mound Monday, pitching a no-hitter to lead the Golden Eagles to a drubbing of Davis in Loomis. Clark let his defense work behind him, striking out one and walking just one in his impressive outing. It took time for Del Oro's bats to wake up, but crooked numbers in the third, fourth and fifth innings elevated it to the decisive result. Four Golden Eagles collected two RBIs in Kael Lumbert, Jack Tews, Shane Maloney and Nico Busalacchi. Lumbert, Tews, Maloney and Will Stark each had two hits, and Del Oro totaled 11. Davis remains in second in the SFL at 7-3 with Del Oro and Jesuit at 6-4.
