Rocklin road rage father-son duo charged with murder and assault

The Rocklin father-son duo from a road rage incident that ended in a death in March was charged yesterday with murder and assault with a deadly weapon. The 60-year-old father, Anthony David Rakela Jr., was charged on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He was released Friday morning, May 16. The 20-year-old son, Blake Anthony Rakela, was charged on suspicion of murder. He is ineligible for bail. Rocklin Police Captain Chad Morris shared that the arrest for the father-son duo was on a bench warrant issued by the Placer County Superior Court. He also shared that the department is not allowed to share more details during this time due to the court's order. "The Court has ordered all information relating to this case sealed," Morris explained. "Pursuant to the Court's order, we cannot discuss anything related to this arrest until after the arraignment in this matter." According to the online in-custody report, Blake Rakela's arraignment is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 19. Court documents note the arraignment will be in Department 20 of the Placer County Superior Court in Roseville.
