Raiders Kolton Miller hosts free camp at Roseville

Over 200 were in attendance at Roseville High School on Saturday, as Las Vegas Raiders tackle Kolton Miller hosted his annual free football camp. Campers participated in drills that practiced passing, tackling, blocking, catching, footwork, and more as they received professional quality coaching from Miller and his teammates. The campers also had a glimpse of what football is like at the next level, with Roseville coaches and varsity players helping run the event. Miller, who graduated from Roseville in 2014, has always looked for ways to give back to his community and hometown since being drafted in the first round by the Raiders in 2018 out of UCLA. "It all started here at Roseville High School. I moved around a lot as a kid and sports is what really brought me a lot of joy. When I finally got here to Roseville, some of my most fun experiences I've had have been right here on this field," said Miller. "Football has done a lot for me, so I wanted to give back to the community." Miller donated a new weight room to Roseville and has held his free camp for three years. His camp is not just open to future Tigers, but any young player in the region with some traveling as far away as Nevada City to attend. "Kolton is an amazing guy. He's very generous with his time and his finances," said Roseville coach Adam Reinking. "This is a way for him to give back to the community that he got so much from." Miller said that he was inspired by Roseville alums that have gone pro in sports before him giving back to the community, such as Teddy Bruschi. He enjoys seeing his camp grow every year and is excited to see the next generation eager to learn the sport that has given him so much. "Having something like this and getting to see returning kids now for year three, has been really cool. It's just grown and gotten better. It's been kind of like my inspiration to give back," said Miller. "We had Teddy Bruschi hanging up in the weight room and that kind of hit me as a kid. So I think some of these kids just see this big old left tackle going on a year eight for the Raiders and hopefully it gives them something to remember and and strive for." Miller also added that it was nice to be back home for a few days and be away from the grind of preparing for the upcoming NFL season. Said Miller, "We just got done with mini camp the other day and when I got here I could just take a deep breath, do something a little bit fun and let loose a little bit."
