Roseville scores five runs in fifth to beat Folsom American, 9-4

In the opening game of the District 54 Major All-Star tournament for both teams, Roseville handed Folsom American a 9-4 defeat on Monday night at Mann Park in Folsom. With the game tied at four after four innings, Roseville scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to win the game, 9-4. Callen Lauchner singled and Kash Enriquez was safe on an error to put two runners on base. Colton Blessinger was safe at first on a fielder's choice, while Lauchner also made it safely to third. With one out, an error by Folsom American allowed Lauchner to score. Lukas Chambers then drew a walk to put runners on the corners. Joseph Scoggins then replaced Folsom American pitcher Max Padilla on the mound before Drew Backfish grounded out for the second out of the inning, as Chambers advanced to second on the play. With runners at second and third and two outs, Zach Skelton singled to score Blessinger and Chambers came in on an error by Folsom American's left fielder, making the score 7-4. Another error by Folsom on a ball hit by Brady Wilson put Roseville up 8-4. Uriah Martin drove in the final run with a base hit, giving Roseville a 9-4 victory. Roseville advances to play Maidu at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Folsom American plays Cosumnes on Tuesday at 5 p.m. &emsp;&emsp;
