Light Rail to run shuttle service June 28-29 between Historic Folsom, Cordova Town Center

A temporary bus bridge, or shuttle between train stations, will be in place on Light Rail between Historic Folsom Station and Cordova Town Center this weekend, June 28-29. The two-day bus bridge on the Gold Line railroad will accommodate construction work in the ongoing, troubled Folsom 15-Minute Service project, SacRT officials said. "Light Rail trains will only operate between Cordova Town Center Station and Sacramento Valley Station the two days," said SacRT spokesperson Jessica Gonzalez. "Riders traveling to or from Sunrise Boulevard, Hazel Avenue, Glenn-Holderness or Historic Folsom stations will need to use shuttle buses." The contractor on the Folsom 15-Minute project is completing the installation of fiber converters in equipment along the rail line, she said. The installation is "critical equipment that could not be installed prior to resuming train service at Folsom-area stations in January," said Gonzalez.
