Roseville police log: Suspects arrest after trying to buy $32K car with fake ID

June 16 At 11:30 a.m. on Galleria Boulevard, store loss prevention apprehended a suspect after noticing her select merchandise, go to the fitting room and then exit the store without attempting to pay for the concealed merchandise. Loss prevention apprehended the suspect after she left the store. The items recovered were valued at $247. June 11 At 2:40 p.m. on Automall Drive, the suspect used a fake ID to try to purchase a $32,000 vehicle at a car dealership. The suspect placed her photo on the driver's license she was attempting to use. The driver's license number belonged to a different individual (victim). The victim was contacted by the dealership, and the dealership and victim separately called RPD. Officers responded to the dealership and obtained the false ID, which the suspect left behind before leaving the dealership with two other people. An officer located and stopped the suspect's vehicle. Upon investigation of the vehicle and all three suspects, the officer found clothing items with security and price tags still attached, suspected methamphetamine pipes and numerous credit cards and EBT cards that did not belong to them. All three suspects were arrested and booked in South Placer Jail. June 10 At 8 a.m. on Coronado Avenue, the victim received an email with her credit card bill but noticed the amount due was higher than normal for her account (which she shares with her husband). The victim looked at the bill and noticed her husband's card was used to make a fraudulent charge via Apple's website. While they did receive a text message confirming a pickup time, they had not seen the message until after the scheduled time. By the time the victim went to Apple regarding the charge/purchase, the package had already been picked up from the store. At 9:52 a.m. on Foothills Boulevard, the victim parked his car in a store lot, and upon returning noticed a window had been broken and a backpack and its contents were stolen from the front seat. June 6 At 7:39 a.m. on Pleasant Grove Boulevard, suspect 1 pushed a cart full of groceries out of a grocery store, passing all points of sale. Suspect 1 went to a car waiting in the parking lot, where Suspect 2 helped Suspect 1 load groceries into the car. Total value of stolen items is $609.03. At 11:57 a.m. on Fairway Drive, an asset protection officer observed the suspect acting suspiciously while selecting makeup. The suspect entered the fitting room with merchandise, but none of the merchandise was left in the fitting room once the suspect exited. The suspect then selected and bought energy drinks and left the store. Officers were contacted by the asset protection officer and confronted the suspect in the store parking lot. The suspect admitted to having concealed merchandise in her purse and was subsequently arrested.
