The Purple Place in EDH is changing colors and ownership, to become new night spot

A renowned former night spot in El Dorado Hills, The Purple Place, will soon be changing colors, and undergo a major rebranding. According to a report from the Sacramento Business Journal, a local entrepreneurial group recently signed a lease to take over the space at 363 Green Valley Road in the Green Valley Center, and re-open as a brand new restaurant and night life spot. El Dorado Hills residents Eric Rushing and Thomas Holzmann are taking over the space and plan to open a new restaurant which will serve American cuisine and possibly live entertainment, though that option is limited due to the size of the building. Night-life businesses are not new to the El Dorado Hills owners; Rushing has been involved with multiple popular spots in the Sacramento area, including The Cabin, Tack Room and Ace of Spades; he is also in the process of opening a new cocktail lounge and restaurant in Folsom called Yager Lodge, according to the report from the Business Journal. The former Purple Place will be undergoing some major changes over the next few months; with the painting of the exterior to a color other than purple, and cosmetic changes to the interior as well. The goal is to open its doors as a shiny new eatery in the next six months, according to reports. The Purple Place was a popular night spot which closed its doors for good in 2022. The business had been an iconic local spot since 1955 and underwent changes over the years, from an addition of the restaurant portion in 1985 to a change of ownership. According to a post on its website though, The Purple Place owners failed to reach a lease agreement with property owners and were eventually forced to close.
