July events at Folsom Lake include junior ranger programs, wildlife tours

Folsom Lake State Recreation Area will host 16 guided community programs throughout July, offering activities ranging from nature hikes and wildlife observation to historical raft tours and environmental education. Programs include Junior Ranger activities such as kite flying and citrus-themed tote bag crafting, adult-focused events like lakeside sketching sessions, and family-friendly options including scavenger hunts and pond strolls. Water-based activities feature history raft tours on Lake Natoma, evening nature paddles and wildlife spotlight sessions focused on local turtle populations. The schedule also includes a climate change presentation by California Department of Fish and Wildlife scientist Rob Titus and a collaborative birding program with Sacramento Audubon Society.
