Placer County Elections opens candidate filing for Nov. 4 Special Election

The Placer County Elections Office has shared key deadlines and other important information regarding the Nov. 4 Special Election, particularly with those considering candidacy. For all offices on the special election ballot, candidate filing began Monday. The candidate filing period closes Friday, Aug. 8 at 5 p.m. During this time, interested parties can access filing services Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Placer County Clerk-Recorder-Elections Office at 3715 Atherton Road in Rocklin. If an incumbent fails to file during this time, candidate filing will extend for any candidate except the incumbent and end Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 5 p.m. If an incumbent files their nomination paperwork or the officeholder has termed out, there will not be an extension of candidate filing for that office.
