2 arrested for human trafficking of minors

Two men were arrested in relation to a human trafficking investigation. The Placer County Sheriff's Office reported the investigation was initiated on Sept. 30, 2024, when deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Accord traveling 90 mph on westbound Interstate 80 near Douglas Boulevard. The driver, identified as Jonathan Tregeminifox Green, 24, of Sacramento, was contacted with two 15-year-old female juveniles who were not related to him and dressed in revealing clothing. Deputies and detectives determined the juveniles had been traveling across jurisdictions during the investigation and suspected the two had been engaging in prostitution activity. The Sheriff's Office confirmed the juveniles were taken to the South Placer Substation and released to their guardians and resources were made available for them through KidsFirst. According to the Sheriff's Office, an extensive investigation was conducted following the incident and revealed further evidence implicating Green and a second suspect, Renardo Williams, in the alleged facilitation of the transport of the juveniles for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Both men remain in custody and are ineligible for bail with court dates scheduled for 8:30 a.m. July 22 in Department 20 of the Placer County Superior Court in Roseville. According to the online arrest report, Williams was also charged with domestic battery, vandalism, damaging a communication device to prevent help and parole violation. The Sheriff's Office confirmed the case remains under investigation in coordination with the Placer County District Attorney's Office, Solano County Probation, Child Protective Services and the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
