Persimmon Art Gallery: There's a new (old) gallery in Downtown Auburn

Persimmon Art Gallery is an artist-owned and operated gallery with fine art by local artists and gifts. The gallery was established in October 2020 next to Awful Annie's on Lincoln Way in Auburn. The gallery recently relocated to 900 Lincoln Way, into the historic Tahoe Club building. This charming structure was built in 1914 as a gentlemen's club. In recent years, it housed a real estate company until the space became available in October 2024. The managers of the Persimmon recognized this opportunity to relocate. With the help of the artist-members, they accomplished this major move in three weeks. The Tahoe Club building provides much more space while increasing the gallery's visibility and street traffic. The move allowed the gallery to boost artist membership from 18 to 33 for an even bigger variety of showcased art and gifts. It is an exciting adventure for Persimmon to be part of the Downtown Auburn shopping and art scene. Persimmon holds an artist reception every other month with generally two artists giving demonstrations or presentations of their mediums. Persimmon Art Gallery also has a designated classroom and offers classes in various mediums. Currently, they are acrylic painting, glass mosaic, quilling, ceramics, watercolor painting, felting, whimsical chick gourds and resin jewelry. Sign up for classes online or come in and sign up. Stop by and treat your senses to beautiful and creative artworks from local artists. Persimmon Art Gallery summer hours are Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Persimmon Art Gallery is pleased with its new location and the presence it provides in Downtown Auburn.
