Rocklin crime log: Illegal fireworks in back of car

Editor's note: Crime reports are released by the Rocklin Police Department. July 8 At 4 p.m. on the 6600 block of Stanford Ranch Road, a Rocklin officer stopped a car for vehicle code violations. During his investigation, he discovered the driver was in possession of controlled substances and had two prior arrests for the same. The driver was arrested for possession of narcotics. Before booking the driver, illegal fireworks were discovered in the trunk while conducting inventory of the vehicle. The driver was ultimately transported and booked at South Placer Jail for the indicated charges. At 3:46 p.m. on the 6000 block of Stanford Ranch Road, a Rocklin PD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation. A search of the vehicle revealed various illegal drugs and fireworks. The driver was placed under arrest and booked into the South Placer County Jail. At 2:30 a.m. on the 6800 block of Five Star Boulevard, unknown suspects broke into several vehicles and took property. Suspects then fled the location before officer's arrival. July 10 At 5:45 p.m. on the 800 block of Lazy Trail Drive, Rocklin officers responded to a parking lot in report of a passed-out driver. Upon their arrival, they contacted a driver who was passed out at the wheel. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined the driver was under the influence of drugs and in possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested and booked at South Placer Jail. July 12 At 9 p.m. on Rocklin and Aguilar roads, a Rocklin officer stopped a vehicle for littering. Upon contact, the driver displayed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication. Upon further investigation, the driver was determined to be DUI. The driver was arrested and transported to South Placer Jail for booking. During the booking process, the driver grabbed the officer's uniform for no apparent reason.
