Citrus Heights man arrested in Folsom death, charged with manslaughter

The Folsom Police Department on Wednesday announced the arrest of a man on a manslaughter charge in the death of a 63-year-old man following an altercation in the Historic Folsom area on June 28. Dylan Pierce, 43, of Citrus Heights was taken into custody early Wednesday morning outside his residence and booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail. Detectives identified Pierce as the aggressor and obtained an arrest warrant for manslaughter, according to a press release issued by the Folsom Police Department. Folsom Police officers were dispatched to a medical aid call on the 700 block of Gold Lake Drive at 3:40 p.m. June 28. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male. Despite lifesaving efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the press release. Detectives responded and assumed the investigation. Through video surveillance and witness statements, it was determined an altercation occurred during an event held at City Slickers. The altercation turned physical on the bar's outdoor patio and resulted in the death of the adult male, identified as James Douglas Caddy, 63, of Fair Oaks. Caddy's death was ruled a homicide, according to the Sacramento County Coroner.
