Sharon Lynn Garsee 3/10/1943 - 7/24/2025

Sharon Lynn Garsee, 82 passed away on July 24, 2025, in Roseville, CA. Born on March 10, 1943, she was part of the first 4 year graduating class of Highlands High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and proudly served as a Majorette with the marching band. She was married to Gary C. Garsee for 18 years and divorced in 1980. Her professional journey began at Aerojet and Burris & Bertolucci Physical Therapy before she found her true calling in aviculture. In 1979 she partnered with her father to open The Bird Shop, eventually taking full ownership and later passing it on to her daughter in 2013. A passionate breeder of exotic birds, Sharon was a pioneer in handfeeding baby parrots and received a first breeding award for the Lutino Dusky Conure. She was a Lifetime Member of the American Federation of Aviculture and served as President of the Capitol City Bird Society. Her love for birds took her across the country to attend conventions and connect with fellow enthusiasts.&emsp;&emsp; Sharon also had a deep love for quilting and served as Vice President of the Antelope Quilters Guild. Her hobbies were as vibrant as her personality, gardening, arts & crafts, collecting beanie babies, riding Segway's, watching HGTV, cheering on the Sacramento Kings and Kansas City Chiefs, and celebrating holidays with family. She especially cherished time spent with family and friends. She was known for her positive attitude, big smile, and distinctive laugh. She is survived by her sister Brenda Murata (Craig), daughter Tiffany Latino (Tony), son Michael Garsee (Lisa), grandchildren Brianna Latino, Daniel Latino (KaLia), Hailey Weaslee (Korryn), great- grandchildren Kylie Murphy, Gemma Murphy, Sienna Latino, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by by her parents William T. and Vivian A. Whitten and brother William R. Whitten. A burial service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10:00a.m. at Roseville Cemetery, 421 Berry St., Roseville, CA 95678.
