Rocklin crime log: Officer injured during attempt to detain reckless driver

Editor's note: Crime reports are released by the Rocklin Police Department. Aug. 5 At 3:12 a.m. on the 10200 block of Fairway Drive, a Rocklin PD Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and placed under arrest for DUI. The suspect was later transported and booked into the South Placer County Jail. At 11:26 p.m. on Farron Street and Front Street, Rocklin Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop for an observed vehicle code violation. The driver attempted to evade the officer but eventually pulled over. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of drugs. During a search of the subject and his vehicle, officers located drugs and paraphernalia. A records check revealed the subject had more than two previous convictions for drug-related offenses. He was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. Aug. 6 At 9:24 p.m. on Blue Oaks Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard, Rocklin Officers responded to a vehicle collision. An investigation determined one driver was under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license. She was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. Aug. 7 At 6:25 p.m. on the 4000 block of Rocklin Road, Rocklin Officers contacted a subject with a known warrant. She was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. Aug. 8 At 4:32 a.m. on Placer Corporate Drive and Industrial Avenue, Rocklin Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of drugs. He was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. At 9:16 p.m. on the 5600 block of Pacific Street, Rocklin Officers were on a traffic stop when an uninvolved subject began interferring with the officers. He started driving recklessly, which caused the officers to attempt to detain him. He remained uncooperative, resisted and injured one of the officers. He was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. At 12:03 a.m. on the 6800 block of Five Star Boulevard, a Rocklin Officer contacted a subject with an outstanding warrant. The subject was placed under arrest and booked into the South Placer County Jail. Aug. 9 At about 8:36 p.m. on the 4000 block of Burchard Way, Rocklin PD Officers responded to a suspicious subject passed out inside a vehicle. The male subject was intoxicated and ultimately placed under arrest for DUI. The subject was transported to a hospital, where he was later released on his written promise to appear. At about 10:09 p.m. on the 5000 block of 5th Street, Rocklin PD Officers responded to a solo vehicle collision. The driver of the involved vehicle was found to be intoxicated and placed under arrest for DUI. The driver was transported to a hospital for his injuries and released on his written promise to appear.
