Auburn preserve hosts family-friendly outdoor celebration Sept. 27

The Laursen Bear River Preserve will host its annual Party on the Preserve on Saturday, Sept. 27, featuring family activities, live music and conservation education. The day-long event will begin with optional guided and self-guided hikes, followed by games, face painting and pony rides with equestrian docents. Evening activities include live music from Professor Jones & The Rendezvoodoo and food from Maria's Mexican Tacos Food Truck. Attendees can also preview items from an online auction and attend a program highlighting recent conservation projects. The Colfax-Todds Valley Consolidated Tribe will receive the 2025 Placer Conservator Award during the ceremony. Organizers have implemented a pay-what-you-can ticket structure to ensure accessibility for all families. Registration is required for attendance, with directions to be emailed to registered participants before the event.
