Library to host California Wolf Foundation program

The Loomis Community Library will host an educational presentation by experts from the California Wolf Foundation, offering residents an opportunity to learn about wolf ecology and conservation efforts in the state. The program is scheduled for Sept. 26 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and is designed for ages 10 and older. It will cover wolves' ecological importance and population dynamics. California Wolf Foundation specialists will lead the discussion, drawing from their field research and conservation work. Wolves were eliminated from California by the 1920s but began returning naturally from Oregon in recent years. The California Wolf Foundation monitors these populations and educates the public about wolf behavior and habitat needs. Registration is recommended due to limited seating. The library will begin accepting reservations three weeks before the Sept. 26 event. Interested participants can call 916-824-2905 or email library@loomis.ca.gov.
