Rhinos roll right through Christian Brothers

Any doubts about how Twelve Bridges would respond after falling in the state championship game last year were quickly put to bed last Friday night, as the Raging Rhinos stampeded over Christian Brothers 42-7 in Sacramento. It was the 21st consecutive regular-season victory for the Rhinos, who show no signs of slowing down this year. Quarterback Connor Frontiera was efficient through the air, completing 8 of 11 passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns. He spread the ball well, but his top target of the night was Dylan Amos, who caught touchdown passes of 38 and 20 yards. Will Gant added 53 yards and a touchdown. The Rhinos controlled the game on the ground, racking up 282 yards rushing and averaging just over eight yards per carry. Chase Whylidko powered the running game with a game-high 127 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Matthew Marquez tallied 56 yards and a touchdown, while Josh Chittom added 54 yards. The offensive line was dominant with a staggering 19 pancake blocks. Nevada commit Colton Hogge paved the way, steamrolling nine defenders, while Landon Williams added four. The defense was strong for the Rhinos, who held the Falcons to eight yards rushing on 13 carries. Twelve Bridges totalead four sacks with Hogge leading the charge with two. Marquez had an interception. The lone score for Christian Brothers came on a touchdown pass from Deakon Holden to Kingston Sablan. Gunnar Marsh led the Falcons in receiving with 81 yards on eight catches. Twelve Bridges (1-0) will be at home Friday night against a formidable opponent in Reed High School of Sparks, Nevada. The Raiders are ranked 10th in the state and will be eager to avenge a last-second loss to the Rhinos last season.
