September Navy League meeting to feature Aerospace Museum

Placer County Council of the Navy League members and guests will hear from Colonel Glen Brady, USAF (ret.) at its dinner meeting Sept. 15. Colonel Brady's Air Force career began in 1973 with a commission as a second lieutenant via AFROTC from the University of Utah. He first served as a public affairs officer at McClellan AFB and later completed his MS degree in mass communications at San Diego State University, then held a series of assignments in Greece, the Pentagon, Japan and California. Following his military career, he served as Director and Dean of Distance Education at Riverside Community College for 15 years. After he was granted emeritus status in 2015, the Bradys served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Barbados before moving to their retirement home in Loomis. Colonel Brady's favorite volunteer activity is serving as a docent at the Aerospace Museum of California at McClellan Park. He will speak about the Aerospace Museum's standing and special exhibits and special activities. The Placer County Council of the Navy League of the United States is a national civilian organization that supports the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and U.S. Flag Merchant Marine. In addition to its 100-plus individual members, the council is supported by three Community Affiliate Members: TGH Aviation, Lassila Funeral Chapel and Chapel of the Hills. Dinner meetings are held on the third Monday of every month at the Auburn Veterans' Memorial Hall, 100 East Street. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a social hour, then dinner and the meeting will begin at 6:30. The dinners are catered at $22 per person, so reservations are necessary and may be made by calling Placer County Council's Bonnie Potter at 530-823-2820 by Friday, Sept. 12.
