"Celebrating the Life of June C. Hampton" It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of June C. Hampton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2025, in Auburn, California. She was 91 years old. Born in 1934, in the state of Michigan, the daughter of Cecilia (Deverney) Douglass and Ernest William Douglass. The sister of Sylvia (Douglass) Mapes, Chuck Douglass, and Bill Douglas. Survived by her husband, Franklin Delano Hampton, and 3 sons, Franklin Delano Hampton Jr., Douglas G Hampton, and Kirk Lee Hampton and preceded in death by her son, Bill Hampton. Grandmother of Douglas Jr, Franklin III, Cecilia (CJ), Christopher, Felipe, Zachary, Aaron and Austin and great-grandmother to 7 great-grandchildren. In June's early years growing up in Midland, Michigan she attended a Roman Catholic school where she developed a lifelong love for her Lord and Savior Jesus. At the age of 19 while in California helping her elder sister, Sylvia, care for her first born and manage household chores she was invited by her brother-in-law to attend his military party. It was at this event that she fortuitously met her loving and devoted husband, Frank, of 71 blessed years of marriage. June's life and legacy was marked by her loving, caring, and kind spirit through her unwavering and dedicated support for her family, friends, and community by the giving of herself unselfishly. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all. A private service will be held to honor her life at a later date.
