Hot Chili & Cool Cars annual event is back

The Rocklin Chamber of Commerce Hot Chili & Cool Cars annual event is back at Quarry Park and Rocklin Road on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free to attend, the 31st annual event features the area's coolest cars and fiercest chili cooks, all competing for bragging rights in the Classic Car Show and Chili Cook-off. Downtown Rocklin is transformed into a giant community celebration, encompassing nearly 17 acres. On the chamber website, you can purchase your chili kits in advance and skip the line. Chili Kits are $15 each and include: Tasting cups Spoon Napkin Crackers Mint Sanitizing wipe Scoring card Voting code Advanced purchase is not required and kits will be sold at the event. Cash or card are accepted. The event is still looking for volunteers. Volunteer dates range through Sept. 20. Registration is quick and easy on the website. And back by popular demand, the Rocklin Chamber will kick off the celebration with its fifth annual Classic Car Cruise through Rocklin at 6 p.m. Sept. 19 near Rocklin Road and end at Ansel Park Senior Living.
