Rocklin police log: Officers recover, return stolen property

Editor's note: Crime reports are released by the Rocklin Police Department. Sept. 1 At 4:50 p.m. on the 5000 block of Arguilar Road, a Rocklin officer contacted a male subject in a residential area. During his investigation, he discovered the male had a felony arrest warrant out of Placer County for drug-related charges. The male was arrested and transported to South Placer Jail for booking. Sept. 2 At 11:30 a.m. on the 2000 block of Sunset Boulevard, Rocklin officers responded to a shoplift in progress at a supermarket. Upon arrival, officers were notified the suspect fled the store. Officers located the suspect while conducting an area check and recovered and returned the stolen property. During their investigation, officers discovered the suspect had several prior convictions for theft-related charges. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to South Placer Jail for booking. Sept. 5 At 6:05 p.m. on Crossings Drive and Sierra College Boulevard, Rocklin PD Officers and the Rocklin Fire Department responded to the area of Crossings Dr./Sierra College Blvd. for a report of a single-vehicle collision. Responding units arrived and located the involved vehicle that crashed into a retaining wall at a roundabout. The driver was transported to a hospital for treatment and further medical evaluation. Sept. 6 At 1:28 p.m., officers responded to the 5400 block of Crossings Dr. for a report of a multiple vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers determined a vehicle collided with multiple parked vehicles in the parking lot of the business. During the investigation, it was determined the driver likely suffered a medical emergency, resulting in the collision. Sept. 7 At 1:32 a.m. on the 4800 block of Granite Drive, Rocklin Officers observed a suspicious vehicle. They contacted the occupant who provided a false name to officers. An investigation revealed his real name and that he had a felony warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. At 9:28 p.m. on Highway 65 and Whitney Ranch Parkway, a Rocklin Officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle that failed to stop at a red light. A records check revealed the driver had one felony warrant for second-degree burglary and four misdemeanor warrants for various violations, all out of Sacramento County. The driver was subsequently arrested for the warrants and booked into South Placer County Jail.
