Ralph Joseph Manfredi 9/18/1945 - 9/13/2025

Ralph Joseph Manfredi passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 13, 2025. He was born on September 18, 1945, in Roseville, California. He attended Roseville schools and graduated from Roseville High School in 1963, where he served as Student Body President and excelled as a three-sport athlete in football, wrestling, and baseball. Although Ralph enjoyed many sports, his true passions were music and baseball. He attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, where he played baseball and met the woman he considered the love of his life, Jaye Hays. He signed a professional baseball contract with the Baltimore Orioles and played in their minor league system for 3 years and ended with a .285 batting average. Ralph and Jaye married in 1970 and settled in Stockton, raising two sons, Ryan and Joel. Ralph subsequently worked in the food industry for more than 40 years, primarily selling tomato products, and was a proud member of the Foodsters Organization. During those years, he formed lifelong friendships with colleagues he considered brothers. Even after his own playing days ended, Ralph shared his love of baseball by coaching youth teams in Stockton. Known as a "player's coach," he mentored hundreds of young athletes, including his own sons, with both his knowledge of the game and his colorful sense of humor. &emsp;&emsp;&emsp;&emsp; Ralph is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Marcello and Nina Manfredi. He is survived by his brother, Paul Manfredi of Roseville; his long-time partner, Kathy Donnell of Granite Bay; his sons, Ryan (Sarah) Manfredi of Placerville and Joel (Katie) Manfredi of Mannford, Oklahoma; and seven grandchildren: Jake (Lily), Sam (Hannah), Max, Grace, Haley, Johnny, and Jaye. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Marello Catholic Church in Granite Bay, followed immediately by a reception at Sierra View Country Club in Roseville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Roseville Little League at P.O. Box #224, Roseville, CA 95678. &emsp;&emsp;&emsp;&emsp; Ralph would also request that when given the opportunity, you remind young players to charge ground balls, use two hands on pop-ups, and always keep their eyes on the ball. We love you, Ralph, and will forever cherish the blessing of having you in our lives.
