Groundbreaking begins for new Dignity Health facility in Folsom Ranch

A significant groundbreaking in the growing world of health care in the Folsom community was celebrated recently. Dignity Health, along with many community leaders, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Advanced Ambulatory Care Center (AACC) at Folsom Ranch. The facility will bring a wide range of specialty and outpatient services to the community. Dignity Health leadership, city officials, and community representatives gathered at the future site on Alder Creek Parkway and McCarthy Way for a ceremonial shovel turning and unveiling of conceptual renderings. The new center represents the first phase of a multi-year development that may ultimately grow into a full medical campus serving Folsom and the greater Sacramento region. The AACC will include an outpatient surgery center, specialty services, and integrated technology such as telehealth and home monitoring. Hospital leaders said the building will blend health and wellness with the surrounding environment, offering space for preventive care, advanced procedures, and family-centered health. "This groundbreaking marks a pivotal moment for Dignity Health, Folsom and the greater Sacramento region," said Lisa Hausmann, President & CEO of Mercy Hospital of Folsom. "For more than 35 years, Dignity Health has been proud to care for this community, and the Advanced Ambulatory Care Center reflects our commitment to building on our legacy. As Folsom and the surrounding communities continue to grow, we stand ready to grow with it." The design of the facility is being led by Perkins&Will, a global architecture and design firm. The developer is NexCore Group — a national healthcare real estate investment and development firm, and the builder is Northern California based XL Construction. Dignity Health announced its selection of the project design team and developer in May 2024. The facility is expected to open in summer 2027 and, once fully operational, will employ hundreds of full-time staff.
