Elizabeth Anne Carducci (Falor) 10/25/1942 - 10/8/2025

Beth was born to Dr. William and Ann Falor in Cleveland, Ohio. After WWII, they moved to Akron, Ohio. She attended Old Trail School (K-12) with favorite activities -- which included a singing group and square dancing. After graduation, she attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. There, she studied art and architecture. Her childhood summers were spent at the family camp on Marquette Island in Lake Huron, Michigan. Wilderness Bay was her lifelong passion as a place to be. A trip to California with her father interested her in UC Berkeley. In 1964, she enrolled in the school of architecture -- as the only woman in the program. She received her masters' degree in architecture. She married and lived in Berkeley, doing interior and remodeling design. Her interest in design for the elderly led her to be part of the Sage Group, a non-profit for elderly housing. After Berkeley, she moved to Larkspur, cultivating her love for birds and bird watching while living on the edge of a marsh. Her main career was in the office of the President of the University of California, where she worked in the budget, planning and architecture departments. There, her major work was involved with seismic retrofit (the process of strengthening a building to make it more resistant to earthquake damage) -- specifically for many campus buildings and the campus development budgets. Beth met Larry Carducci through a mutual friend, and they were married in Oct. 1998. She retired and moved to Auburn, where she joined AAUW (American Association of University Women -- auburn- ca.aauw.net). She was active with this group on the girls' scholarship selection committee. She had a profound commitment and support for women's education. In addition, Beth was an avid genealogist of her family history from before the Revolutionary War, as well as for pioneer families of Ohio, Pennsylvania and the Bitter Root Valley of Montana. And she was a member and regent of the Immigrant Trail Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). And through DAR, she head up Soles for Souls -- gathering up more than 3,000 pairs of shoes for people in need. During much of all this -- laughing, learning, reading, writing, having good friends and helping and loving many -- she and her husband had the Turkey Gulch Home Winery, and she was the partner for quality control, making many award- winning wines. She was also a member of the Sacramento Home Wine Maker Club. Beth was a fighter, having survived four major cancers before succumbing to pancreatic cancer. She was an active member of the Auburn Cancer Hope and Support Group for Cancer Patients. She is survived by her sons, Weseley and Robert Bexton; grandchildren Miles and Andrew Bexton; her husband Larry Carducci; and her step children, Juliana and Mathew Carducci.
