River City Band to rock Mannheim Steamroller holiday music

The Rancho Cordova River City Concert Band invites the community to celebrate the season with "A Fresh Aire Holiday – Celebrating the Music of Mannheim Steamroller." The concert program will be performed Sunday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m. at Koreana Plaza, 10971 Olson Drive, Rancho Cordova; and Sunday, Dec. 14, 3 p.m. at Cordova Performing Arts Center, 2239 Chase Drive, Rancho Cordova. Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to benefit the Rancho Cordova Food Locker, helping local families in need during the holidays. This year's program shines a spotlight on the sounds of Mannheim Steamroller, the beloved American music group founded by composer and producer Chip Davis. Known for blending classical music traditions with modern rock and electronic elements, Mannheim Steamroller has become synonymous with contemporary holiday music. Their arrangements have brought a new spin to holiday classics for more than four decades, making them one of the best-selling holiday artists of all time. The concert will feature Mannheim Steamroller favorites, including "A Fresh Aire Christmas," "Joy to the World," "Pat-A-Pan," "Celebration," "Greensleeves" and selections from The Polar Express, plus more festive surprises sure to fill the audience with holiday spirit. The Dec. 14 performance will feature a special collaboration with the Cordova High School Concert Choir, adding a rich choral dimension to the joyful celebration. Families, friends and music lovers of all ages are invited to attend this free, family-friendly holiday event. Under the direction of Tom Seaton, the Rancho Cordova River City Concert Band is a community-based volunteer-driven ensemble dedicated to bringing quality concert band music to the greater Sacramento area.
