Santa, kids cozy up at Beermann Plaza

Have you ever wanted to have Santa Claus cozy up on your living room sofa, next to your Christmas game room, with your giant lit Christmas tree shining brightly from your front yard through the front window? Well, Lincoln-area residents found that festive treat last Saturday afternoon. With light rain for a short time, the "Santa in the Plaza" free community delight hosted Santa and many families indoors in the Lincoln Area Archives Museum in Beermann Plaza. Kids and adults streamed through the door to eat sweets, drink hot chocolate, play games, get face-painted, mime for the photo booth festooned with loads of holiday props and clothing, and make their own Christmas cards with stickers and decorations all provided by local businesses, nonprofits and volunteers. Whew! A high-spirited party. And of course, the big guy Santa himself "Ho-Ho-Ho'd" with little kids on his knee and even adult kids, and with help from his elves and helpers provided free plush toys and keepsake photos to all. Again with the Downtown Lincoln Association, Santa is already planning his annual event for next December. Better be nice, not naughty, until then!
