Richard T. "Terry" Hoopes 4/24/1935 - 12/05/2025

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Richard "Terry" Terrell Hoopes, age 90, on December 5, 2025. Terry was born April 24, 1935, in Thatcher, Arizona, and had made his home in Meadow Vista, since 1964. Terry was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young man, he served a full-time mission in North Carolina. He served faithfully as the Bishop of his local congregation from 1995 to 2000. After completing dental school at USC and 2 years of service in the Air Force, Terry practiced as a dentist in Auburn, California for 40 years. He earned a masters degree in public health and served two terms as president of the Placer Hills Union District. Terry had a love of aviation and travel. He was also an avid fly fisherman. Terry is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Tamara C. Hoopes; his children Richard T. Hoopes II, Sydney Ash, Leslie Chi, Tara Larson, Hillary Hall, and John Hoopes; as well as 24 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on January 24, 2026 at 10 am, at the Colfax LDS church.&emsp;&emsp;&emsp;&emsp;
