Boxer is the antithesis of Tea Party

I take issue as the Lincoln Tea Party coordinator that the people demonstrating against Sen. Barbara Boxer on Oct. 13, was planned or organized by this freedom-loving organization as stated by Ms. Grant's Oct. 21 letter (page A6, Lincoln News Messenger, "Wrong photo used of Boxer's visit").I believed this was a "town hall" and that any constituent could participate. Much to my surprise, a $10 ticket was required. We have never demanded the purchase of tickets to participate. We feel the call for a small constitutional government, fiscal responsibility and free market are ideas worth protecting and defending, using our own funds to do so.I saw close to 200 people outside of the facility. Anger came to the surface when the ex-HOA president told people to move off the sidewalk and into the parking lot. Lincoln's finest were there, uniformed guards and Boxer's 'people' to control the seniors. An individual wearing a Tea Party T-shirt was denied a ticket although this person was willing to pay the "donation" but was told "we don't want people like you." A man outside was physically accosted by one of the Boxer supporters. The Lincoln Tea Party has had many functions there without the need for guards, ex HOA presidents or others to 'control' the people.Representatives, like Ms. Boxer, legislate their personal agendas to protect small minnows by stopping the flow of water to the Central Valley, costing California farmers their livelihoods, high food costs to the nation and a desire to see a sea of solar panels, all manufactured in China, throughout California. She voted in favor of Troubled Asset Relief Program, both stimulus programs, bail out to the unions of GM and Chrysler, $23 billion to bail out union teachers, Obama Care and any other special interest union with their hand out.A vote for Boxer is a vote for higher costs for food, fuel, electricity, healthcare and everything else that we need to survive. Boxer is the antithesis of the Tea Party philosophy of lower taxes for those who produce something of value.Claire Magid, Lincoln
