Who is the Real Reverend Cool?

Gus Thomson wrote an article on Cool on Nov. 5, that Rev. Aaron Cool ministered to the Gold Rush-era settlers.I immediately sent him an email, with documentation on Reverend Peter Y. Cool correcting this error since I portray this "real life" character as a docent/interpreter for the Calif. State Parks and in Coloma for James Marshall State Historic Park.Gus, disregarding my research and documents said, "We are going with the commonly used name and the historical society." I asked him to prove his facts, since my research found no evidence of Aaron Cool.My research turned up: a personal journal by Peter, one by his wife Sarah Mahala Cool, photos, articles from the Sacramento History Library, census documents in El Dorado and Amador counties from 1850-1880, listing as a prominent minister in both Nevada, Northern and Southern California Methodist Conferences, and Cool's Post Office has an official flier listing Peter Y. Cool as their namesake.When I asked Gus to put up his historical documents next to mine, he wrote "we'll just have to respectfully agree to disagree on this."Gus, you owe your readers the truth, and need to retract your erroneous reporting.JERRY L POZO, Cool (aka Reverend Peter Y.
