Car washes scrub up for education

Folsom Glenn Car Wash & Auto Lube and Gold Rush Car Wash are donating a portion of their sales from the week of Sept. 12-17 to local schools.Folsom Glenn Car Wash, 414 Glenn Drive in Folsom, is kicking off their second "Wash 4 Schools" fundraiser. They are donating a portion of all wash, detail and lube packages purchased the entire week to the schools in the Folsom Cordova Unified School District. A portion of the cost of every car wash or oil change during that week will be donated back to the school the customer's choice. This is Folsom Glenn Car Wash & Auto Lube's second "Wash 4 Schools" fundraiser. In April they raised more than $2,500 for local schools and their hope is to quadruple this amount. The Folsom Cordova Education Foundation is supporting their efforts this fall and sponsoring the wash. In addition, Gold Rush Car Wash, located on the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Winding Way in Fair Oaks, has joined the program. This means that two local car washes will be raising money for local schools."In the wake of more budget cuts, community support for our schools is imperative," stated a press release issued by the organizers.
