Here are some interesting numbers from the recent Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of "Likely U.S. Voters" shows that 62 percent believe cutting taxes is better than increasing government spending when it comes to creating jobs.Twenty percent say increased government spending does more to create jobs, while nearly the same number (18 percent) are undecided.Just 16 percent of "Likely U.S. Voters" now say the country is heading in the right direction, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey taken the week ending Sunday, Aug. 7.The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 20 percent of the nation's voters "Strongly Approve" of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-two percent "Strongly Disapprove," giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -22.So, to summarize, 20 percent of us want more government spending and approve of the job the President is doing. We cannot count the 18 percent that have no clue.Sixteen percent think the country is going in the right direction, meaning 4 percent approve of the job and think the country is going in the wrong direction?We should be thankful that only 4 percent of the population crop built in a government-run system is dysfunctional.John T.
