Below is unedited game recaps submitted to the Telegraph by the Folsom Vista Jr. Eagles.Vista Jr. Eagles Jr. Pee Wees 8, Davis Jr. Blue Devils 30 It was a tough loss for the Jr.Pee Wees this week against the Davis Jr. Blue Devils, 30-8. Jake Vencer added a touchdown to his season total and a 2 point kick. Strong pressure on the QB by Grant Roush helped Josiah Ripp intercept a Davis pass. Jack Goyeau was a defensive force with multiple tackles in the backfield. Donovan Cokley, Nicolas Nunez, River Boelman, Roush and Carter King carried the ball for the Eagles. -by Jeff RoushFVJE PEE WEE GAME SYNOPSIS – 10/01/11Looking to rebound after last week's loss, the FVJE Pee Wees took to their home field in week 5 to square off against division rival Davis Blue Devils. A consistently strong effort overall and a friendly bounce of the ball would help the Eagles to victory on this day.A Davis fumble on the return of the opening kick-off from Folsom was recovered by Christian Gore (#24), but the Eagles quickly fumbled the ball back on their first offensive series. Key tackles by Mitchell Northcutt (#3) and Jackson McFarland (#58) stifled the Blue Devils offense, and the Eagles took over on downs. At the 6:52 mark, the Eagles were first on the scoreboard. With a first and 10 from the Eagles own 31, Bryan Tanglao (#23) found a seam in the defense and eluded several tacklers on his way to an impressive 69-yard TD run. Drake Digiorno (#28) converted the PAT kick, and the Eagles were up 8-0.The Eagles defense picked up where they left off, with Matthew Koett's (#54) 6-yard sack on a first down serving notice on the Blue Devils offense. After Davis was forced to punt, it wasn't long before the Eagles found the end zone again, with QB Josh Wisinski (#4) lobbing a 25-yard TD pass to Brenden Boone (#21) over the outstretched arms of a defender. The PAT kick was good, and the Eagles were rolling, 16-0.With Folsom's swarming run defense leaving Davis little choice, the Blue Devils went to the air, scoring on a 5-yard TD pass and converting the PAT to make the score 16-7 at the 7:27 mark of the second quarter.During the remainder of the second half, the Eagles' defense continued thriving on the solid play of Northcutt and Tomas Nunez (#77) before an interception by Digiorno looked to put the Eagles in scoring position yet again.Despite the best efforts of Parker Clayton (#80), who recovered an Eagles fumble to retain possession, then made 2 key pass receptions of 21 and 25 yards, Folsom squandered a scoring opportunity when a boggled pass in the end zone was intercepted by the Blue Devils for a touchback. A Clayton interception on the ensuing Devil's possession brought the half to a close with the score 16-7, Eagles.After trading possessions to start the second half, the Eagles regained their offensive swagger by way of the ground game. Runs by Tanglao, Wisinski, Matthew Jenner (#11), and Will Carrey (#22) all set the stage for a diving TD run by Wisinski with 2:26 remaining in the 3rd. A failed PAT kept the score at 22-7, Eagles.With Folsom well in command heading into the 4th, it took a Davis interception and run-back for a TD to keep the game interesting. Holding just an 8-point lead at 22-14, the Eagles looked to create a little more breathing room. The rock-steady rushing of Tanglao, supported by his offensive counterparts, brought the Eagles to the Devils' 12-yard line, when a determined Wisinski bulled his way into the end-zone for another Folsom score with 2:35 remaining. The Eagles converted the PAT to make the score 30-14, and Davis would not score again.Submitted by Greg Markel Vista Jr. Eagles Jr. Midgets 6, Davis Jr. Blue Devils 38 The Eagles Jr. Midgets played with heart but lost to the Blue Devils 38 to 6. The Eagles defensive line pressured the Blue Devils quarterback throughout the game and David Hull, Severin Anderson, Nnamdi Nwokobi, Nick Ellis, Ethan Parkert, and Hunter Corbitt took turns making great tackles and even a few sacks. In the second quarter, QB Ryan Hicks threw over the middle to Adam King for a thrilling 22-yard touchdown and the Eagles only score. Throughout the game, the offense made solid gains, mostly on running yards by Blake Tutor and Matt Karp. Great catches were pulled in Jason Carrey and Vance Olives who also ran plays as QB in the 4th Qtr. On special teams, Trey Berman, Trevor Corey and Adam McMahon set up good field position on kick returns. -by Claire ThomasVista Jr. Eagles Midgets 16, Davis Jr. Blue Devils 31 Saturday the midgets fell to Davis 31-16, despite an overall stellar performance. The Jr. Eagles had over 100yds of offense led by #11 Ben Barudoni, who also returned a kick 90yds for a TD. Barudoni capped off the day with a 28yd pass to #22 Dylan Hacket for a TD late in the fourth. On the defensive side, the Jr. Eagles were a force giving up only 15pts. #84 Wade Thomson set the pace on the first play of the game with a fumble recovery, while eight Jr. Eagles recorded three or more tackles, (#3 Josh Winkler (5), #10 Joe Santeriello (3), Barudoni (4), #32 Austin Palmieri (5), #33 Tanner James (5), #34 Nick Williams (5), #45 Trent Jas (4), #46 Daniel Furguson (8), and Thomson (3)). Three Eagles also recorded sacks for substantial losses, (James, Williams, and #80 Isaak Butcher). With such a strong finish to the game, Vista set their sights on formidable Pleasant Grove next Saturday for the unofficial, "Jr. Eagle Bowl". -by Kelley Butcher
