Friends take over bookstores, host used book sale

Friends of the Roseville Public Library volunteers will host their first used book sale of the year Feb. 17 and Feb. 18 to benefit local public libraries.The sale takes place at the Downtown Roseville Library and continues what will be a regular endeavor for the Friends, a nonprofit group whose volunteers are running the bookstores at each of the three Roseville libraries. Beginning in December, the Friends assumed responsibility for all donations, selection and stocking of shelves for the used bookstores at the Martha Riley Library, Downtown Roseville Library and Maidu Library. Bookstores are open during business hours. Prices range from 10 cents for magazines to $5 for sets of books. Shelves are stocked on a regular basis with newly arrived donations. Proceeds go toward the purchase of new materials.The February sale will feature thousands of books, including current fiction and nonfiction books.
